1972-August-25 ZZ Top Tulsa, Oklahoma Disc 1 - 28.49 1 Untitled Instrumental 5.46 2 Francine 3.29 3 Brown Sugar 10.11 4 Backdoor Love Affair > 9.21 Mellow Down Easy Some notes about this show (not mine - see below comment on the complete setlist): This is a TOP 10 best ZZ Live performance. While at the same time the recording of it was somewhat poor (It's a C/B Quality), the band seemed to be experimenting here. It sounds like it was an incredibly remarkable show where ZZ was really starting to show the sound that would become a legend. Even with the sadly poor recording, I would have to say that this is a TOP 10 Live ZZ fan made recording. This is one of the best live performances by ZZ that I have ever heard even while a poor recording. (This is a little worse than listening to AM radio). I have heard that there was an old bootleg LP of this show and this may be from it. This is just loaded with full speed blazing extended versions and instrumentals. While the set list seems a little short, every version of every song is extended and there are over 30 minutes alone of just solos and instrumental jams. It may very well be complete as it is an hour and 20 minutes long. Incomplete recording. Here is a more complete recording, along with some comments (not mine) 1 Unknown (9 min, mostly Instrumental) 2 Memphis Blues & Early Version of I Loved A Woman Medley (7 min) 3 Little Queeny (6.30 min extended version) 4 It's My Time (Sung by Dusty Hill - long version 5.30 min) 5 Frank Beard Drum and Billy Gibbons Bass (yes Bass!) solos (13 min!) You read that correctly. 13 minutes long! Frank who was then a young man, tore this set of drums from one side of reality to the other! This is without a doubt, the most awesome and excellent drum solo I have ever heard and for the last 6 minutes of it Billy Gibbons joins in with a unique bass guitar solo, and then they joined together and jam for another solid minute. 6 Brown Sugar 7 Jailhouse Rock 8 Unknown (This likely does not have a name - Superb instrumental 6 min) This right hear tears the sides off a guitar like it's the end of the world! Billy tears it up for 6 minutes! 9 Francine 10 Brown Sugar (Different version from above) Again you did not read that wrong. They DID play Brown Sugar twice! This version is very different. 11 Backdoor Love Affair > Mellow Down Easy Medley (Extended Instrumental 9 min)
